HALLYU as defined on Urban Dictionary:
""Korean wave," or "Korean fever," it refers to the sudden increase in popularity of South Korean culture around the world in the last ten years."
Join us at Chibis Boba as we present what HALLYU is all about.
It's that time again, this month we present 2 episodes of a recent K-Drama, another episode of the popular variety show 런닝맨 RunningManand a concert featuring one of the biggest boy group acts in the k-pop scene.
We'll start off with the first 2 episodes of the currently running K-Drama "Orange Marmalade."
"Despite a 200-year-old treaty between humans and vampires, both races still don't get along. Amidst the looming tension, Jung Jae Min, a posh yet kindhearted high school student, quickly falls for the mysterious new girl Baek Ma Ri. But can Ma Ri conceal her true vampire identity and give love an honest chance? If these star-crossed lovers can find the courage to make the leap, Jae Min and Ma Ri may just be the key to a final resolution between humans and vampires.... "
Based on the popular webtoon/manga of the same name starring: Yeo Jin Goo as Jung Jae Min & Kim Seolhyun (of AoA) as Baek Mar Ri.
Following Orange Marmalade, we'll be showing the most recent episode of Running Man with special guests: SISTAR’s Soyu and Bora, AOA’s Seolhyun, A Pink’s Bomi, and comedianne Lee Gook Joo.
This episode will feature a hot summer race, the winner of the race will be crowned queen and get to enjoy delicious and nutritious food. Given the competitive nature of all these guests and their love for food, this promises to be an episode full of laughs. Along with the usual antics of the regular cast of this show, expect to see some of the male members fall in love with some of these guests.
Big Bang: Japan Dome Tour X
That's right boys & girls, this month's concert features the one and only Big Bang.
In November 2014, Big Bang kicked off their X Japan Dome Tour, performing a total of 15 shows in Japan's five major dome venues.
The tracklist for this concert features some of their biggest hits by the whole group along with solo work and units. Songs such as Fantastic Baby, Good Boy, Blue, Haru Haru and more!
Invite your fellow k-pop fans and friends to join us for all the drama, laughs and high energy music!

First off, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to stop and check us out! We’re incredibly grateful to our customers, because all of us know if it wasn’t for your support, we wouldn't have gotten as far as we have. While a lot of people think we're a big money making business, we're actually just a local mom and pop shop. We struggle just as much as any other small local business. That's exactly why getting this foodtruck would be both a life saver for the business, and the people who work so hard to bring smiles into store every day they work there. So, without further delay…
Essentially we’re shooting for a food truck that will allow us to transfer the materials, the appliances, and the workforce needed to bring our delicious drinks and sandwiches to all sorts of anime, comic book, video game and other kinds of conventions all over Florida. We have to start in our home-state for now, but we hope that one day we can travel further and further with our business until eventually you see Boba trucks hitting up the flashy scenes of Comicon, Dragoncon, and all the other big name places.
Where the money is going into.
It’s going take a lot more than just the food truck to keep the Boba fans happy, so here’s a basic breakdown of where it’s all going to:
Fundraiser Funds ::
Food truck - 23k
Paint job - 5k
Trailer - 5k
Freezer - 300
2 Blenders - 2k
6 jugs - 480
2 Sealers - 1k
Generator - 2k
Boba Burner - 400
Water tanks - 820
40k might seem like a lot, but these are just the bare necessities in order to get the business running. It'd be nice to straight up buy a truck without worrying about payments, so we're cutting straight into it. Blenders such as those from Blendtec are not cheap, but they're the best of the best and we strive to deliver both quality and quantity. Everything listed is much needed, and much appreciated. If you happen to have more in-depth question about appliances we'll be buying, feel free to ask!
Things that we'll be selling
DRINKS :: As for what we will be selling, that's an easier question to answer. As of now we have over 20 flavor selections in house. What we'll be bringing out into the field will always be changing depending on popular demand. With luck, we'll be able to pack all of flavors into the truck, especially popular favorites such as Taro, Strawberry, Thai Tea, Honeydew, Coconut, Milk Tea, etc.You can also mix any two flavors listed on our current menu for no additional cost! The boba itself is complimentary, so we won't be charging unless you're feeling like having a little extra.
FOOD :: It's no fun drinking boba alone, so we're going to be aiming to bring some munchies as well. In the truck we'll be able to offer hot paninis right off the press! Our current sandwich selection includes the all time favorite Island Chicken Curry, a Cuban, Tomato Mozzarella, Ham and Swiss, and a Grilled Cheese. Our meats and cheese are made with the finest ingredients from Boars Head, and are complimented with house-made sauces.
DESSERTS :: While we offer desserts (froyo, muffins, cakes, pies, ect) in house, it's still in the air whether or not we'll be bringing pies and cakes onto the truck. This depends wholly on how much we make. If we happen to make over our initial goal, we might be able to bring our froyo machines on the road.
How we'll sell
We've been to a few conventions already in Florida to sell our product, and we already know it's a hit and it sells. Transporting materials without a trailer or a truck, though, is a big, heavy pain. Not to mention not all convention centers allow food that isn't theirs on the grounds. This is where the truck comes in. We carry all our goods in one big truck, we don't have to run back and forth between the store and the con because we managed to have space for extra materials, and we can sell our drinks on the street side close to the con where we're allowed.
If you follow us at Chibi's Boba on facebook, we'll always post what cons we'll be hitting up, so you can find out where to find the big orange truck at a con near you! We'll also be posting updates weekly as the fundraiser moves along. Thanks again for your help everyone, this means so much for us!
